Swan river South Perth Foreshore – Kodak Ultramax 400 in Minolta 700si using Minolta 35-80 F4-5.6 zoom

A couple of weeks ago we decided to drive down to the South Perth Foreshore of the Swan River to take some photos since it was such a nice sunny day. Lisa and I shot multiple cameras both film and digital, this gallery is just the pics from my Minolta 700si using my Minolta 35-80mm auto zoom lens on Kodak Ultramax 400iso film.

This first shot was actually taken at home while I was making sure everything was all wound on correctly.

Minolta X700 using Minolta 50mm F2 test shot first roll of Agfa Vista Plus 400iso

My Minolta X700 had arrived a couple of months back while I was at work. I raced home to throw on one of my Minolta 50mm F2 manual lenses and bang in a roll of Agfa Vista Plus 400iso. I ran out and shot whatever I could around my neighboring streets before the sun went down, then rushed the film off for processing. Both camera and film outperformed my expectations. I did however in my haste, over expose these shots by 2 stops. This could account for the extra vibrant colours.

Canon ex-auto first test with fuji superia xtra 400iso

This Canon Ex-Auto is Lisa’s parents camera that they bought back in 1972 for their trip through Europe and the Middle east. Just before Christmas they brought it down out of the closet after many years of just living hidden away on a shelve. So I cleaned it off and had it serviced by my good friend Max, and Lisa and I threw a fresh roll of Fuji Superia Xtra 400iso through it, with outstanding results.

These first 2 shots were taken at home.

I believe this is what is known as a “wind” on, at the start of a roll of film.

The next few are from in and around Joondalup.

After leaving Joondalup we noticed a great sunset, so we raced to the coast to get some shots.

This is my best mate ‘Dengis’.

These are some crazy sculptures in a suburb up north of us.

These shots are taken from my first test roll of Kodak Ultramax 400iso film I put through my Minolta 500si to compare to the Fuji Superia Xtra 400iso I had shot previously.

These first few shots were taken around my mate Marty’s house. He has spectacular gardens and ponds.

I was driving home after dropping off a film for developing and I saw the sky looked like it was shaping up to be beautiful sunset. So I raced to the nearest shoreline I could get to, so I could snap off a few shots.

Again after dropping off a film for developing (could have even been the same night), however this time it was later at night where only 1 or 2 shops were open in the complex and no-one was around. Normally you are not allowed to take pictures in the shopping center, but with no-one around it made for an interesting subject and there seemed to be no security guards around to stop me. haha

Test roll of Fuji Superia Xtra 400iso through my Minolta 500si using Minolta 35-70 F3.5-4.5 zoom

This series is the first test roll of Fuji Superia Xtra 400iso I put through my Minolta 500si using my Minolta 35-70 F3.5-4.5 zoom.
Just taken round the house and down the local park.

These first 4 were taken at home, the first 2 being a bright and colourful Canna flower, the last 2 being my 2 dogs Babydoll & Dengis.

The rest of these were taken on a walk down the local park. In the end there were these huge flocks of these Pink & Grey Galahs, I was so drawn to shooting them.

This is one of my favourite shots the I have ever captured.
