It’s about time I picked things back up…

Wow, looking at my last post about getting my A7r being from November 2013, I feel almost ashamed knowing it is now early/mid October 2014 as I sit down to write this. Saying that, admittedly I was already starting to fall behind last year… I still have many great shots from a trip to Melbourne in October last year and a second lot from our trip to Margaret river last year amongst others from Nick and Kaylene’s wedding which we shot the video for etc. etc.. haha
I will have to get around to doing belated posts for some of these, I intend to make an effort to get back to more regular content on here.

Winding out 2013 was a turbulent time I remember thinking as I was going through it. Continue reading It’s about time I picked things back up…

Hey Josh,

Cheers for wanting to profile my work.

Barko Photography specializes in Live bands and Nightclub photography, through the eye of a lens. All photos were shot with a Canon EOS 60D and a Tamron SP AF 17-50mm XR Di II LD. With the aid of a Canon 430EX II speedlite set to 2nd curtain for the nightclub stuff.
I chose these shots as they show everything I love about live bands and in general the nightlife

Inspirational Moments #2: Tammy Parr

Welcome to the second installment of our ‘Inspirational Moments’ section. I am showcasing the amazing photographic talents of the people who visit PROTAS. If you would like to contribute, have your photos shown here (you get a permanent link back to your photo page) just hit me up on: protas@metalforfishes.com

Up today is Tammie Parr, she has been helping out local bands in Perth with live photos for a while now and is just starting to try her hand at booking shows now too. Enjoy!

This photo was taken at ‘Murder in the Basement’ using my f1.8 50mm on my Canon 550d.
I like this photo cause of the way the light is on the subject and also think the lines give it a certain flow.

Using the same lens and camera this was taken at ‘Mind Kandy’
I finally learnt that you dont need to take a full photo of the subject but rather what it is that they are doing and I love the way the light sets up this shot.

Same lens and camera.
I love this shot cause the girl is making her own fun by simple means of a colander and some water I caught her pure and genuine enjoyment. What fun on a hot summers day.

First up is Alvin Ganny, he has been helping out local bands in Perth with photos for a while now and really does great work. Enjoy!

Hey Josh,

Here are some more shots, of ‘Morphica’ these are from ‘The Den’.

I shot these at ‘The Den’ located at ‘The Civic Hotel’ in December 2011. We know the den is dark with those crazy lighting, but that’s when my flash came in handy!! haha

I used my Canon 5Dmk1 body with Canon 16-35mm F2.8L with canon speedlite 430EXII for all these shots

I like these photos with the B/W effect, it really shows the simplicity of the photo.

Haha i’ve got nothing more to say man, mental blank!! too tired to think :p lol

Cheers,
Alvin
